Ideally somewhere with a nice sandy beach

Are we allowed to just up sticks and move to the EU still? I'm a long way off retirement but always fancied spending my twilight years somewhere hot and sunny, thought Brexit might have scuppered that

Given climate change, if you live in the south it won’t be long before you get your hot and sunny....

Costa Rica would be my suggestion too. Beautiful country and quite developed, so no worries about healthcare etc as it’s excellent. Income inequality isn’t as bad as other parts of central & South America either.

The Alentejo, in Portugal, somewhere along the Spanish coast (way cheaper) or somewhere in Italy (though the money doesn't stretch as much). I've lived in Panama, close to Costa Rica and it won't be long before the prices go up to match IMHO.
Vietnam and Cambodja are like Thailand but cheaper and without all the tourists (yet) though if you're getting on in age I'd stick to Europe for the better healthcare but if you want to start a business you'd get a heck of a lot more bang for your buck.

Nope, live in Yorkshire and it's cold and wet most of the time 😒

I can't talk about moving to (all) Europe per se. I can only talk about moving to Portugal, where I live. It's very easy to get a work visa as long you have a company willing to sponsor you and that's not much hassle for them so most don't mind. It's mostly about you getting a signed contract you can show to the Portuguese equivalent of the UKBA, so they're more than willing to that as long as they want you because they don't need to waste or money for time, you'd be the one doing the leg work.
That's the way most people are doing it nowadays, they come on a tourist visa, then get a job and then go and apply to get the right visa once they're here.
The biggest thing is whether you have the skills companies here want but as long as you come from the UK you have a massive advantage right there. So, it really depends on what you'd like to do but don't let the lack of visa stop you.
There are also visas for those who want to start their own company here or expand a business that's already in place there.
However it's not all peaches and sunshine, full disclosure, a looot of people speak English and if you come from an English speaking country, 98% of times they will want to talk to you in English... You try talking in Portuguese and they'll talk back in English. Also, they will insist on telling you about the Portuguese princess that took tea to England when she married your king, please just learn to embrace and accept it.

Turkey.

I would't go anywhere with the Euro because I've never found those countries to be particularly cheap.

Honestly, Turkey!? Women are harassed in the street every single time - this I've heard not only from Turkish women but also, surprisingly, from men. In fact, I met a guy who lived there before getting married and I remember his DW saying she wanted to go on holiday and her DH saying: over my dead body, it's too dangerous for you.
And that's without mentioning the little guy in charge over there! A mini Pu.tin wannabe. As a woman I wouldn't want to live in a place where I'm always looking over my shoulder. I lived in Brazil for a year and that was enough, thank you very much (and I wasn't even in a very dangerous place).
