Deodorant / Anti perspirant

I'm 43, think I might be peri because I now sweat like god knows what.

I'm fairly active - exercise most days. Weights, cardio, hiking, swimming. I shower every day and wash my hair about every 3 days (thick, curly hair, would like to leave it longer because it's dry but my scalp starts to smell).

Can someone please recommend a strong deodorant because my dove one is no longer cutting it.

I swear by the Mitchum cream one, keeps me fresh all day

Another vote for Mitchum.

I saw someone on here the other day say mens ones were stronger. Anyone know if this is true?

Thanks for the Mitchum recommendation.

I suspect men's ones are stronger but I don't definitely know. Worth looking into, especially for exercise.

I use a mens one, its cheaper and works better. I'd like to use the Mitchum but Lidl own brand is within my budget.
But you say your scalp smells, I wonder if that should be investigated. Is it a greasy hair smell, or more of a yeast/vinegar type odour?

Triple dry applied at bedtime.

Just a general unwashed smell. I tried leaving it longer than 3 days, as I've got dry hair but my scalp stinks. Every 3 days is the most I can leave it. What do you think it needs investigating for?

Yeast or vinegar smell could be an infection, but it doesn't sound like you have one.

Jemimapuddleduk · 15/06/2022 12:24

Mitchum, the spray is best for me but I’ve also heard about doubling up of Mitchum roll on then spray. Also I use the dettol laundry sanitiser in my machine for work out/gym/particularly sweaty clothes. Works like a dream.

That's a good tip - thanks!

I used to get a bit of a scabby scalp but head and shoulders fixed that.

Soap to wash armpits with - shower gel doesn't cut it

Yep, I have a good scrub with soap every day 😄. Shower gel hasn't cut it for a while now.

I rotate about 3/4 as I seem to become immune to the same one after more than one day

Mitcham mens unscented is great - slightly more effective than womens and no pink tax. Other brands of laundry sanitiser are cheaper than Dettol and just as good: Wizz, Astonish, Lidl
