Trying to shift some of my house’s previous owner’s stuff on Gumtree. Free, collection only.
Loads of people send the default “hi, is this still available?” message. Yes, it’s still available, are you interested? Silence.
Then there are the people who ask thirty questions that are already in the description. “Can you deliver?”, no. “Will it fit in my car?” I dunno, check the measurements I put on the description.
Then there are the people who arrange to turn up then don’t.
And the people who send multiple messages about the fecking thing, “can I come by at 9?”, yes fine, “actually I’ve just checked and it’ll have to be after tomorrow afternoon”, ok fine see you tomorrow, tomorrow arrives, “not sure I can make it sorry will message you later xx” then nothing.
Last person gave me a long spiel about how she wanted it for this particular thing and it would be really useful because, etc etc etc, and then didn’t even turn up anyway.
