Do many people do this? Or just make sure you change address on anything of importance once moved?

This is a crucial & VFM service. Apart from the convenience it could also help to protect you from fraud.

I do both - I send change of address letters to everyone I can think of, and then I pay for the mail redirection service for a few months - I assume that, by the end of that time, I’ll have seen any people/organisations that I’d missed.

SarahSissions · 14/06/2022 18:04

Yes. It’s not fair to ask the person moving into your old home to have to deal with your admin

riesenrad · 14/06/2022 18:05

Yes, last time I moved I paid for a year, and then renewed for another year. I suspect you'd need less time than that now as so much is online but I'd go for a year to start with.

LoudingVoice · 14/06/2022 18:05

Yes we did this and it’s definitely worth it, in the stress of moving it’s one less thing to worry about at the same time.

LuaDipa · 14/06/2022 18:06

Yes. It’s polite but also ensures that you don’t forget anything.

BaaCake · 14/06/2022 18:06

Yes for at least 1 year to catch everything

EmpressaurusWitchDoesntBurn · 14/06/2022 18:06

I do both too. As SarahSissions said it’s not fair on the person who’d be receiving your mail, & also the three months or whatever of redirection gives you time to make sure you haven’t missed anything.

HarvestFly · 14/06/2022 18:07

Yes, and write to all the companies to change address.
Can help prevent you being victim of fraud

BornIn78 · 14/06/2022 18:09

Yes for at least a year.

If I move into your house you’ve got 3 months before I start binning everything addressed to you.

Thewayshetalks · 14/06/2022 18:09

I have done mine for 3 months, I was just curious as four years later I am still getting post for various people who lived at the house I am at, I get the occasional parcel too
