Hi

Looking for a suggestion for a birthday present for a mum in early 30s with no hobbies/interests. Any ideas?

I would be boring and go for something generic like an amazon voucher/ cinema/ pub meal gift card.

I would get a small box of fancy chocolate - the sort you never buy yourself because it's ten pounds a kilogram.

Or some hand-made delightfully-scented soap, wrapped in paper and presented in a basket or something.

I do edible gifts quite a lot these days, usually something I know the person loves but wouldn't buy for themselves. They are very well accepted.

Depending on how well you know her..
Books
Handcream
Lovely/fancy soap as per pp
Are there any local art/craft fares locally where there could be something unusual (eg like a handmade jewellery tray) - totally depends on her character though
Summer scarf

how well do you know her OP?

She must do something in her life? What does she do in her spare time?

NeedAHoll · 14/06/2022 15:46

She literally spends most of her time looking after kids/house and all the responsibilities that come with that territory. She doesn’t like dressing up or wearing make up and isn’t into perfume or candles either so the choices are limited

Alcohol?

reluctantbrit · 14/06/2022 15:57

Can you snoop and see what she uses for bath/shower and get something more upmarket with a similar scent?

what does she drink? Coffee, tea, alcohol and get something together with a box of chocolates?

TottersBlankly · 14/06/2022 16:03

Tbh I wouldn’t want gifts related to any of my main interests - the whole point is to engage in them at a specialist level.

For your friend - arrange a babysitter and take her out to a very fancy cocktail bar. (She can drink non-alcoholic cocktails if teetotal.)

Someone who has bo hobbies is the perfect candidate for a new hobby present?

NeedAHoll · 14/06/2022 16:35

Not an alcohol drinker but loves tea and chocolate

Afternoon tea? Assuming she has a partner to look after the kids you could take her out. If not, you could get it delivered to her house. See also- brownies by postGrin
