I’ve read a couple of old threads regarding this but wondered if anyone had any recent experience?
I had my first baby during lockdown in 2021 at PAH. Due to lockdown I had no one with me until active labour. After three failed inductions I ended up in an emergency c-section under general anaesthetic. My partner was obviously removed from the room and following the birth no one came to talk anything through with me as to what actually happened. I struggled for a long time to get my head around it but ultimately reassured myself that whatever the issue they acted so quickly, keeping both myself and baby safe.
We've just found out we’re expecting again, very early days, but I need to book in for Midwifery care. We live pretty much between PAH and Broomfield, I’m torn over who to book with. Do we go back to PAH where it wasn’t perhaps the best experience but we were both kept safe or do we go to Broomfield which is totally unknown to us? I think PAH has better CQC standards for maternity. Just keen to know anyone else’s recent experiences. Hopefully we won’t be in lockdown again and that side of it will be better wherever we choose!
