That you would still have to go to other shops for, or that you prefer the quality/taste etc of non Aldi items.
Currently shop in Tesco but it is beyond expensive lately!
Dip in and out of Aldi but find I still need to top up at Tesco.
We are pescatarian so no meat.
Does the fruit and veg last beyond 2 days?

I just use basmati for my risotto and it still comes out ok!

How? Confused Surely the texture must be very different - basmati has hardly any starch compared to risotto rice.

Dried Mixed Fruit... When I went I had to dash over to Morrisons and get it. Didn't know my neighbour was going to Aldi when I asked her to get me some and she ended up buying me some in M&S!

At the moment....kitchen foil.

Beyond that, I find most of what I need I can get there. But I have a good local butcher snd I have a weekly veg box too.

I do find the middle aisle too much of a distraction :) Too many things I never knew I might need!

Aldi check out is easy once you know what to do.

Get everything onto the conveyor belt quickly.

Line your trolley with Also bags - they fit perfectly and stand up and hang 2 extra on the trolley hanger just in case.

Quickly load items into bags, do NOT attempt to lift bags to pack, you just need to put stuff into the bags in the trolley. Use extra ones of necessary.

Takes a bit of getting used to but I'm been complimented on my packing technique 🤣

DO NOT DEVIATE FROM THIS TECHNIQUE

That's what I do , bung open bags for life in trolley, pack straight into the bags. I keep pace fine with the cashier
Just as quick as putting it into the trolley and saves repacking.

I don't understand why people make a meal of it.

They've stopped selling their delicious sugar free chocolate in our local branch which has greatly upset me!

AlwaysLatte · 14/06/2022 00:30

Method cleaning products and breakfast juice, also their herbs and spices are limited.

Shellsbelles · 14/06/2022 00:57

Lactose free milk - they have the label on the shelf but never have any in stock
Tinned spaghetti - rarely in stock
The Aldi "actimel" - no one likes it here

We do like some of the cereals and washing powder though

If you’re reading Aldi…..tinned spaghetti (the childrens pasta shape variety) more oat milk & the smoothies that are on your website but never seem to be in the store would be great thanks.

Also one half aisle less of random stuff and actual food would be ideal and probably pull more shoppers in during these hard times!

I agree @Forpoxsake

Those middle aisles have so much tat in them that it's obvious that no one buys.
Garden stuff , DIY , children's and pets' things do well but some of it is plain crap. So much of it is jumbled up or out of its packaging and has clearly been there a while.

They'd do better to put more food and produce in.
More loose fruit and veg for those households where large packs are a waste.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 16/06/2022 18:42

i never find green tea or poo bags

Forpoxsake · 18/06/2022 09:14

Yes more loose veg would be great!

And frozen spinach! (Though Tesco and Waitrose haven't had any locally for a couple of weeks, so it's the holy grail at the moment!)

Buy a big bag of the fresh stuff and pop that in the freezer. I’ve done that if I wasn’t going to be using it in time. You can just pull out handfuls and throw into whatever dish you’re making.
