What’s the best (type?) of tv?

We bought our last tv nearly 20 years ago and want to replace it with another that will last 20 years (ours is still going string and will be used in another room).

What's a good size for watching films (instead of paying cinema prices)?

Is oled still the way to go? (It was when I first started researching 2 years ago)

Are all TVs now smart? It will connect to the internet/ play YouTube/ Disney+ etc?

Thank you!

I doubt that most TVs you buy today will last 20 years.

We have a Hisense smart TV. It's great - we ditched our Sky TV monthly plan, and watch everything via streaming apps. We pay for Netflix and Prime, got the Disney one for free without mobile phones, and every now and then we do the one week trial of Apple TV for free, binge watch a series, and unsubscribe.

I'd never pay for Sky tv/virgin box type stuff again.

We got a Smart TV and what you find is gradually they upgrade stuff you can't access.
This means you have to buy a new TV to use the apps etc.
We now have subscriptions on our old TV. Netflix, Amazon & Plex.
Not worked it out but can't imagine there is much between subscribing or new smart tvs every few years.
Could be wrong but I'm too tight for the initial outlay and the kids can watch subscription stuff on their phones and laptops too.

Thank you!

I was looking at LG ones, but I’m not sure how much to trust online reviews.

I have had Samsung tvs for ages now. Reasonable priced. I have 43 inch so not massive.

I have one in kitchen and one in living room - same make means I can steal the remote from the other one when I lose it!

LG OLEDs are amazing, I have 2 of different sizes for different things and the oicture quality is amazing on them.

Can't recommend them enough
