Has anyone ever bonded/made a friend over a difficult/adverse situation?

Apologies for not wording this well but I wondered if anyone else has made friends or at least bonded with people over a strange situation?

I spent 14 very long hours in CDG airport after a flight delay and made a friend there, whom I'm still friends with now. It was funny how quickly everyone seemed to start to form bonds after it became evident that this was going to be a pretty long delay.

I also made a friend because we both witnessed someone being hit by the bus that we were traveling on. We were both witnesses, and became friends because of it.

Has anyone else experienced similar?

Not a specific event but I bonded with one of my closest friends (of years standing) over a very toxic shared workplace. We have both long moved on but we still talk about it occasionally.

One of my closest friends these days was someone I met and became friends with when we were both on the same psych ward. We definitely never would have crossed paths any other way
