Does anyone want to watch along?

I have just put it on iplayer after reading about it on a documentary thread.

How does 2006 look so old

I watched it a few weeks ago following that thread and thought the same! I wasn't sure how ethical or appropriate the director was tho, with his reprimanding cajoling and stuff. I get that he cared for these people and wanted them to live healthy lives, but all that trauma can't be nagged away.

I watched it the other day after reading the same thread. I thought the same at first- it seems so dated!

It was terribly sad but I didn’t find it as harrowing as others on the thread had said. My DF was a chronic alcoholic (who died after eventually committing suicide) and I grew up with my parents while social circle being people in AA and Al-anon so maybe it was less of a shock to me as I’ve seen most of this first hand.

Just finished it and I wonder what happened to Mark and Vanda.

I was very shocked to see Tony die so young. I thought it took years of drinking to become an alcoholic and for the damage to take hold.

I thibk it was quite poor of the documentary maker to question whether Vanda was telling the truth twice.
I dont think that us something that he could get away with today.
