Health anxiety and child with fever - tick encephalitis

Hi all

I struggle with health anxiety around my children. I can tell I am starting to spiral now and hoping posting might stop it!

one of my DC has had a temperature with no other symptoms since yesterday. He is fine in himself - slight headache yesterday. He had a tick bite a week ago and I have now convinced myself he has tick encephalitis ( or something else awful as he doesn’t have other symptoms).

I know there isn’t anything I can do even if he does ( he has been given antibiotics for Lyme because of fever). I know my anxiety doesn’t help anyone ( I am hiding it from him). But arrrrrggghh I drive myself mad ( single so no one to talk me down!). I kind of wish he had some kind of other symptom to explain the temp ( is it normal to just get a temperature??)

How high was the temperature?
My youngest daughter gets temperatures quite often. I have anxiety and it does panic me too . Last time she had a temp of 40 with pretty much no other symptoms. 111 said take her to ooo dr but he couldn't find anything wrong, said it was just a virus and she was fine next day. Just keep an eye out for anything else.

Maybe call 111 for advice?
With the tick bite and now a temperature they might give further antibiotics?

Thanks both. Max temp was 38.8. Went in the morning but came back this afternoon.

He is on the full course for Lyme re antibiotics - it’s 3 weeks and a strong antibiotic so think that’s sorted.

I guess all I can do is hope it’s just a random virus and wait out the tick encephalitis time frame. It is strange that he doesn’t seem to have other symptoms - other than off his food a bit.
