Where to go in August, UK

Hello. Like many we missed travelling the last few years and really looking forward to getting away. Was looking at ideally staying in the UK this time, perhaps Cornwall? Unsure whether it will be too busy over the summer holidays though so am looking for other recommendations! We live in the south east and Cornwall would be a 4 hour drive which is about the max we would drive with a toddler in tow. It would be us and 2yo. Ideally looking for lovely beaches/lakes, idyllic scenery. I really love the water so would want to be closeby. Any ideas?

Devon and Cornwall are (currently, it’s getting busier now loads of flights are being cancelled) far, far quieter than they have been in years. I work for a holiday letting company and for the last few years we’ve been pretty much guaranteed that properties will be let from now until early September. This year even some of our most popular properties have spaces throughout the school holidays.

Normally I’d say no way to Cornwall in August but the PP has much better intel than I do! If you do
go I’d recommend the south coast. So much quieter than the north and I think much more beautiful, though it depends what kind of scenery you like!

Ah, that's interesting. It's still an option we're exploring!

Hawkchuch lodges in Devon/Dorset border. Very near Charmouth. Is lovely.

I’ve noticed that holiday leggings companies are pushing hard at the moment. They’re always coming up on FB and many with availability in July and August.

Dorset is beautiful and we find it's less busy than Cornwall.

North Norfolk is nice. We’re going back to Wells-Next-the-Sea this summer.
