Potential heatstroke or my health anxiety?

My little one is 14 months old and yesterday spent a bit of time out in the sun. He was in cool clothing and well covered in a hat and sunscreen, although I obviously didn't reapply as often as I should have as his forearms are a little red today - lesson learned so please dont slate me. He was very active and heerful yesterday, although it did occur to me he looked a bit hot. In the night he had a temperature, it went up to 38.6 so not overly high. I gave calpol in the night which brought it down and then it went up a bit as it wore off this morning, but only to 37.9 and right now his temp is normal with no further calpol. Today he is very off his food and drink, he had a little lunch but refused his breakfast and afternoon snack and his milk. He's had wet nappies though so much be drinking enough water not to be dehydrated. He's happy and playing.

In laws are here today and despite me saying I think my little one should stay out the sun as he's had a temp, they are all outside and it's really difficult to keep him away from them. I'm sure they think I'm utterly hysterical as he seems fine to look at and just wants to run around the garden - and he doesnt even have a temp! Plus I've had health anxiety in the past and they know this.

I was just hoping for some objective views on whether this is indeed my anxiety talking, or would you be worried about heatstroke too in my position and want to keep then in?

I'm not looking for medical advice, I have already decided if his temp goes up again or he stops having wet nappies, or he seems distressed, I will call 111.

Update: they've gone inside but made it clear they are doing it so as not to upset crazy old me.
