Sound bar or echo dot or something else that doesn’t exist?

I’m sick of playing my music on my iPad or iPhone so need something to play it to.

We have a YouTube music account which as a family we are logged in to (don’t have Spotify, not sure if relevant).

We’re also an “apple” family so I constantly tell Siri to “play x song” and it does it.

I want to be able to move it, so the sound bars just seem massive.

Do echo dot’s link to YouTube or just Spotify?

They seem small so are they good from a sound point of view?

If not an echo dot, what’s best?

you can link your phone to a echo and play via youtube on your phone and the music will come over the echo

www.apple.com/uk/homepod-mini/ - this is the apple version of the echo, i havent tried it as i already have a echo when this came out

A Sonos speaker will play from YouTube. They gave a couple of portable wireless options, the Move and the Roam which are suitable outdoors you. Several wired options too. Great sound.

We have a minirig mini speaker which just links to phone / tablet / computer via Bluetooth - then we play music using Spotify, SoundCloud, bandcamp it whatever. The sound is really excellent especially given how tiny it is.

Sonos also very good - I went for the minirig mostly because cheaper (£99) plus it's made in Bristol (was recommended me by a friend who does sound so I figured it'd be good)
