On Monday my ds aged 11 years 9 months had an upset tummy and had a couple episodes of diarrhoea.

He has sensory issues and gets really upset by anything tum related so he was really panicky and upset, I gave him 2 immodium.

On the pack it said 12 years and up can have 2. Ds is not 12 till September but I figured it was near enough.

He hasn't been to the toilet since and I'm starting to worry. Is this normal or have the immodium ruined his normal rhythm? I have some lactulose in the med cabinet should I give him some of that?

I'm panicking because share ds with ex and he's due to go ex on Monday. Ex will go mental if he knew I gave ds medication meant for people 3 months older than him

Help

I honestly dont think the Imodium will have harmed him!

if hes anxious though he could be withholding - i have a teen who didnt poop for over a month because if anxiety. I dont know how the do it its basically a miracle but they can .

The dose is fine - if he'd been born 3 months early he'd already be 12

Imodium can cause everything to grind to a halt for a few days. Do not give lactulose - make sure having fruit & veg & water in the diet.
