Chinese education- GCSE equivalent

A chinese friend here in the UK would like to work for the NHS as a HCA and possibly ultimately a nurse. She has a degree from a Chinese university and then a masters from a UK university both in an unrelated subject, but she has carework experience
. She is filling the form in for an NHS HCA position and needs to say what her GCSE equivalent maths and english qualifications are.I feel as though she must have done some sort of equivalency test to study at that level in the UK ,.She thinks she did some sort of functional skills English test? But has no idea what the Chinese equivalent of Maths GCSE would be.
Does anyone know?

I don’t know, but I looked things up.

This page might be useful

www.enic.org.uk/

This page from UCAS says the Gaokao is broadly equivalent to 4 x AS levels, which here are taken one year after GCSE. The lower level exam is taken at the end of the previous level of schooling, so pre-GCSE. I think this implies there’s no direct comparison.

Is the Chinese university a Tier 1, 2 or 3 one?

That page was last verified in 2018.
