Trying to get organised and can't decide the best day to do it!

Asda home delivery every Tuesday evening. Works for me!

Imsittinginthekitchensink · 09/06/2022 14:27

Thursday evening.

Pennyhill22 · 09/06/2022 14:30

I do click and collect on a Sunday. I've 3dc in school so like to ghave fresh fruit, bread, lunch meats for the school week. Usually do a small shop on Friday for some weekend bits.

pinkunicorns54 · 09/06/2022 14:37

Thursday usually. My DC is at nursery in the week where they get all their meals, so I need fresh fruit and veg ready for Friday onwards when they are at home!

Used to be a Sunday, but realised all the fresh stuff went off before they got a chance to eat it!

motogirl · 09/06/2022 14:38

When I need food! Usually Saturday and Tuesday. 4 adults from Saturday (university finished) so not enough storage for one shop a week

MsOllie · 09/06/2022 14:42

Different day every week! I try and stretch it to every 8 days, or sometimes every 9 so it depends what food is left

Goldfishmountainclimber · 09/06/2022 14:43

Early Saturday morning when there are not many people in the supermarket.

FourTeaFallOut · 09/06/2022 14:44

Every single day, just about. Between things that are forgotten, things needed at the last minute and things that need to be bought fresh because they wouldn't last the week - I'm definitely at a shop picking something up most days. No help, sorry op, I'm here for tips.

SirenSays · 09/06/2022 14:46

I usually only order once a month, I just look for a day with the most convenient delivery times available

merryhouse · 09/06/2022 14:47

I don't shop weekly. Twice a month I do a Big Shop, because the Clubcard has a discount scheme on two shops a month. Anything that won't keep that long (salad and milk, mostly) I pick up in an interim shop which usually happens on Monday or Tuesday and Thursday or Friday.

We still have a Sunday Dinner tradition so like to ensure we can get fancy vegetables at a point that they'll keep till Sunday evening.

In the before times we'd got into the habit of strolling to the shop almost every day, but obviously that stopped.

(I didn't think I had a particularly big kitchen, but I'm boggled at the idea of not being able to store a week's food...)

RainbowsAndUnicorns40 · 09/06/2022 14:50

Monday morning 7-8am, everything stays fresh for a week of school lunches and snacks.

OneCup · 09/06/2022 14:51

Saturday morning so we have nice foods for the weekend :)

Borisblondboufant · 09/06/2022 14:55

If I have total freedom - Tuesday morning. It’s always quiet.

Oizys · 09/06/2022 14:56

Big monthly shop for all the cupboard and non fresh things first Tuesday after payday

if we need a weekly top up of fresh foods that’s done on a Tuesday (just because I have tesco midweek delivery pass)

Hereforthenthtime · 09/06/2022 14:58

Usually Tuesday morning using a Tesco midweek delivery pass

JustFrustrated · 09/06/2022 14:59

Friday evening at 8pm is my preferred.

Then Friday after 430.

Then Thursday after 430.

I always get one of those slots.

Means I have stuff for the weekend which minimises my risk of going to Tesco for milk and spending £30 instead.

Lacedwithgrace · 09/06/2022 15:04

Big shop on Friday afternoon, usually a top-up shop on Tuesday.

Notmytiep · 09/06/2022 15:10

I Just buy stuff when I need it.
I really should be more organised

GiltEdges · 09/06/2022 15:15

OneCup · 09/06/2022 14:51

Saturday morning so we have nice foods for the weekend :)

Ha, we actually do Monday morning home delivery for exactly the opposite of this reason. I've got far more willpower to resist unhealthy treats Mon-Fri and just have to get over the fact we don't have any by the weekend Grin

Botoxbotox · 09/06/2022 15:20

I get a shop delivered every 4 to 5 days, really cba to meal an for any more than that, and it saves the endless top up shops.

YouCantBeSadHoldingACupcake · 09/06/2022 15:21

Morrisons delivery Tuesday morning, Aldi shop Saturday morning. 10 people in our house so can't store a full weeks shopping

ChuckMater · 09/06/2022 15:27

Delivery either tues or wed morning

Blackbirdblue30 · 09/06/2022 15:27

I live alone. I really don't like having to trek to the shops after work, especially in cold, dark weather. I meal-plan for the week (incorporating anything fresh left from the previous week) on a Sunday and do it then. I also keep a post it pad stuck on the inside of the cupboard to jot down anything running low. I began being that organised during Covid when shopping was hazardous and it's been really helpful and I think it reduces waste too. :)

minipie · 09/06/2022 15:28

Thursday pm - I’m wfh then and can take it in plus we have more fresh food for the weekend that way.

Beetr00t · 09/06/2022 15:33

Tuesdays 7-8pm. Because we have a midweek pass!

Also go to Aldi every Saturday afternoon.
