Help! I have to have a document witnessed in the US Embassy! Are you going to be there Thursday?

I am desperate, so am asking here because I have seen amazing things happen here: teddies found, strangers' houses cleaned, life-threatening conditions diagnosed, hands of the bereaved and the depressed held through the night...

I have been on Mumsnet for many many years, but changed my name because this is identifiable. I need to have an important document witnessed on Thursday at 10am, and I don't know anyone I can ask to do this. It would involve getting someone from my village to travel to London, which would take half a day or more, just to sign a piece of paper.
I don't have any friends in London

Please, kind vipers, help me: have a brilliant idea, an incredible coincidence, or reassure me that a kind stranger in the embassy will do this easy but essential favour for me.

Hooray @Dodoassociated 😇 you need one more OP? I'm sorry I'm not at all near.

Thank you so so much all you wonderful kind people! I am so touched and moved by people's offers, and I have now found the help I need. You have all been so good to me, and I am very grateful.

Thank you Vanguard and Dodo and everyone who has offered help and support. You have made me feel like people are kind and good, and that is worth so much to me.

Does it have to be done in the embassy OP or just notarised? I'll check with DH if the latter, he's a US Notary and could do some of this over zoom last year

Excellent news.

Yes OP does it definitely have to be done in person at the embassy?

I had some American paperwork notarised online from the Uk. Just paid a fee. Was very straightforward to arrange and was at about 9am here so middle of the night in the US too!
