Boris confidence vote sweepstake

PlanetNormal · 06/06/2022 18:24

Let’s see who can most accurately predict the result of the confidence vote. There are 359 Tory MPs, so Boris needs the support of 180 or more of them to remain party leader & PM.

My prediction:
No confidence : 145
Has confidence: 214.

OP posts:

175
184
Because I'm bad at maths and that was the easiest work out

When will we know????

By 9pm. Vote closes at 8pm.

MrsRobinsonsHandprints · 06/06/2022 19:36

With all the people saying they voted for BJ it would be funny if the results were no confidence 358 (obviously ND would vote for BJ)

SeaDogs · 06/06/2022 19:37

No confidence- 172 (48%)
Confidence- 187 (52%)

Isitcake · 06/06/2022 19:38

No confidence 99.

Im sure he won't go and I don't think it will even be close. I even think my 99 might be a bit high. Wouldn't be surprised if it was as low as 70.

Would that count as a resounding victory for Johnson? Wink

Skiptheheartsandflowers · 06/06/2022 19:44

No confidence: 138

He's toast sooner or later now. I will be raising a glass later. This is the start of his exit proper.

When will we know????

Announced at 9pm, just after they break it to Big Dog himself. Will be live on the BBC from 8.30 pm

Nearly 140 have publically declared no confidence in advance of the vote. If he wins, he’ll scrape it.

Neolara · 06/06/2022 19:49

No confidence 132

LauderSyme · 06/06/2022 20:12

"With all the people saying they voted for BJ it would be funny if the results were no confidence 358 (obviously ND would vote for BJ)"

Boris himself also gets a vote, I think, being a Tory MP.

HannahSternDefoe · 06/06/2022 20:15

No confidence 83.

Unfortunately.

MrsRobinsonsHandprints · 06/06/2022 18:53

I think it will be decisive whichever way it goes, but on the account things are going to get worse before they get better I'm going with confidence in BJ so they can stick more onto him

No confidence 60
Confidence 299

^This.

They need Boris. They need someone to blame and then dispose of when they are ready, and not at the whim of a few ERG/back benchers.

No confidence: 98
Confidence: 261

This is close to my guess

emerald1981 · 06/06/2022 20:20

No confidence 74

mum2jakie · 06/06/2022 20:23

No confidence 150

AppleandRhubarbTart · 06/06/2022 20:24

I think he'll win overall but there'll be a high enough number to be a problem: going to say 116.

Ithinktomyself · 06/06/2022 20:27

No confidence 185.

MsWilma01 · 06/06/2022 20:29

This is depressing. Character and integrity matter. He should go but they will vote to keep him. So ashamed of the state of this country right now. He is a disgrace to the office he holds

No, nearly 140 have declared they will support him

smileyworld · 06/06/2022 20:35

I just think he will win (again). But I have lost all hope...

MsWilma01 · 06/06/2022 20:35

Yes of course, but 52% no confidence and 48% confidence would be a narrow defeat

DaisyQuakeJohnson · 06/06/2022 20:38

No confidence - 200
