Jewellery valuation (to then sell on eBay)

I have a 9ct gold aquamarine ring that I want to sell but I have no idea how to get it valued without spending a lot on a professional valuation.

I know it’s not worth ££££ but looking on eBay these type of rings go from £20 to hundreds of pounds so how do I know which end of the scale to aim for? Looking at the listing descriptions very few of these have hallmarks (mine just has ‘9ct’) or documentation. A jeweller told me to use eBay to sell it but it would go for more money with documents to prove it was an aquamarine (and not topaz) but it was a gift to me newly 30 years ago so I have nothing.

I wondered if anyone had any insight on how to get it valued without spending a fortune, especially if it’s not worth a lot. I seem to remember it cost around the equivalent of about £150 in today’s money nearly 30 years ago.
