I've got my dressing gown of doom on!

Decided its not just for men. I am also entitled to shuffle about mournfully in an oversized fluffy dressinggown when I feel like absolute death. D&V bug, picked up from dd2. Dd6 and I now have it. Honestly can't remember the last time I felt so ill. At least dd2 was only bad for 2 days. Roll on Wednesday...

Anyone else want to pull up a dressing gown and mope with me?

And yes I'm aware the original DHOD was about performance illness. But it still made me smile as I pulled in on

Not sick but looking around at the under bed stuff I’ve stupidly decided to pull out and feeling very unmotivated now to finish. I’m about half way through though so meh I can rest a bit and get back to it later

CarrieMoonbeams · 06/06/2022 13:25

I'm perfectly well, thank you, but I wondered if you also have the Slippers of Sorrow to complete your outfit?

(And I hope you feel better soon!)

GlumyGloomer · 06/06/2022 14:14

I have some extremely sorrowful slippers @CarrieMoonbeams, at least in the sense that they are in a Sorry state.
Nausea has abated slightly, so I've risked taking some paracetamol for the banging headache and mild fever

Sorry to hear you are unwell, was there a 'scarf of something or other' along with the dressing gown of doom or am I making that up?

Oldraver · 06/06/2022 14:17

Oh yes. I have Covid, had a shower and needed a sit down as it was exhausting

I've now put my PJ's on my short dressing gown and decamped to the sofa with my duvet

GlumyGloomer · 06/06/2022 14:31

@Oldraver sympathies. Duvet sounds like a great plan. Hope you feel better soon, dressing gown buddie!
@IhopeYourCakeIsShit no scarves here. I may be doing it wrong though, I've not been badly ill in ages.

I think hand foot and mouth from 4 years ago is the nearest competitor. I was breastfeeding so couldn't take any proper anti itch meds, and to compound matters where I already had dermatitis on my hands the complete skin on 2 fingers died and peeled off. I took to wearing cotton gloves all the time as the site was so grim.

Sight. Although the site of the peeling was also pretty bad I suppose. I really can't type when I'll.

Morning. Dd and I are still shuffling around the house like old school zombies, but at least the fluey side has gone down and I've managed to shed the dressing gown. My head and, well, pretty much my everything still ache but am hoping that today will be better than yesterday.
Thanks so much for the good wishes, and @Oldraver I hope you feel much better soon.

If I find a DGoD will this improve matters? Feeling like hell, day 6

TibetanTerrah · 07/06/2022 06:17

There was a hat on the other thread which amused me far more than was reasonable.

Sorry you're feeling rough OP. I had covid a couple of months ago and it completely wiped me out. I'm a terrible ill person, definitely one that gets "man flu" instead of a cold, but I live alone so there was no one to show off my dressing gown of doom to and it felt like a lot of effort to put it on at the time 😅

steppingcarefully · 07/06/2022 06:22

Where is the other thread? I was having such a laugh yesterday reading it but now I can't find it.

Hope you feel better soon.
