Been thinking for years I want to get lipo on my knees. Even in times of being at my lowest weight, I have a lot of stubborn knee fat which never shifts. Finally I have booked it in for later this month. It is catheter lipo.
The surgeon who is a very well renowned and well reviewed surgeon who I have thoroughly researched is very relaxed about it. She told me I would be up and walking about the next day, can exercise (walking only) for the first week. Her quote was "As long as you're not doing squats the next day you'll be fine."
I am reading accounts on mumsnet of "oozing," terrible pain, bad side effects from medication, bruising for months, the "cobblestone" effect which ruins body parts for life and I am starting to wonder what I have got myself into. I was so reassured by how calm the surgeon was about it - do the types and locations of lipo really differ that much?
I was hoping to go on holiday end of July and sit by the pool. Will my knees look like they've been put through a mangle?
And the pain?
I'm 38yo. I have quite a high pain threshold. I am a single mum with 4DC, 2 long labours and forceps and two EMCS where I had very little choice but to just get on with it. I have childcare to cover the recovery period.
Will I not be able to walk straight after? Surgeon seems to think I'll get up from the bed and just walk away.
