What (if any) food would you like to be fed at a children’s afternoon party?

Hi all,

It’s my first time throwing a children’s party in a few weeks. It’s being held between half 2 and half 4 in the afternoon. I’m doing some light food boxes for the children as the party isn’t across a mealtime.

I’m looking for a consensus as to what (if any) food should be provided for the adults in attendance? I’m fully stocked on drinks (water, coke, lemonade, tea, coffee and a little sangria each).

Ideas all welcome please,

thank you

I'd just get a few crisps or biscuits.

Mid afternoon I think tea/coffee and a biscuit would be lovely and thoughtful, anything else is OTT. It’s not a mealtime, the grownups don’t need feeding.

Thanks all. Quite an array of suggestions 😅 I should have made it clear that all adults coming are friends/ family. A few very close family members without children are also coming

How old are the children? A cheese plate, bread, grapes, crisps would be lovely and I do appreciate a prosecco or two in addition to coffee/tea. If children are school age, I wouldn’t expect parents to hang around.

Chicken nuggets
Cucumber sticks
Cherry tomatoes
Mini ham sandwiches 1/4's
Chunks of cheese/baby bel
Crisps
Cup cake

So it's not quite a children's party then. However they are coming to a children's party so a couple of plates of sandwiches, cake, crisps. Elderflower cordial, another cold drink. I wouldn’t serve coke or lemonade because the children will see it and want it.

Hummus, pitta bread, bread sticks, quiche, sausage rolls, cocktail sausages, mini scotch eggs, crudités,
More dips, sandwiches and cakes. X
