Horrific periods- urgent solution for exam season

DD is doing her A levels and has one day a month when she feels ridiculously unwell with faintness, nausea and pain. She was going to try the period delay tablets but is worried about side effects.

Is there anything else she could try? Looks like she might have two exams on her worst day…

It irks me that so many people think that hormonal contraception is always the answer. Every version of the pill I have tried has caused me to become suicidal. I’ve also suffered with acne, weight gain, and continuous breakthrough bleeding. Increasingly women are realising that using the pill is not good for our long term physical or mental health. It is not as simple as ‘just take the pill’.

It is for the vast majority of women. Clearly there are some women who cannot tolerate it. No-one is saying its a magic cure-all.
