Of course, it does recognise that there are people who will have no experience of buying things in Imperial measurements and it does understand that having a unit of measurement that is the same across shops empowers the consumer and ensures fair trade - however, Brexit and all that
I know people know their weight in stones and pounds...but I think that buying items and comparing prices in pounds / ounces...a waste of time
If the Government wants it so everywhere has to sell in price per pound, but metric has to be there but in smaller font, then that's their choice. A sort of reversal of the current law. Some may see that as a waste of time and money. Some may not.
