What colour are DS' eyes?

We spend a lot of time trying to work this out. Grey? Light brown? Grey/green? We spend a weird amount of time trying to figure this out I mean, if he was to be described in a line up, what would they say? Please tell me what you think!?

I thought Hazel was more brown - like brown but light? The colour of... a hazelnut?!? Have I totally missed an eye colour here!?

Well that explained things for me re hazel. Will have to tell DS he has unusual coloured eyes (well, we knew that but now it's official

DH is mediterranean and has proper brown eyes. Mine are v v blue. DH's great grandfather had blue eyes apparently though and I think the blue gene has been passed down, even if the rest of his family are all dark brown eyed. But with me in the mix both DC have interesting eyes. DD's are brown but more what I thought was hazel - ie light brown/bit of gold.

Whenever anyone asks this question on Mumsnet I always know the eye colour will be hazel. It seems to be the colour that people don't know the name of.

Hazel. I have hazel eyes- or did as a child, they're much more green now. I've had positive comments on them all my life, while I of course was desperate for brown eyes. They look different colours depending on clothing and light- so experiment!

Yes your DDs are light brown and FAR more beautiful in my opinion! I know tons of people with Hazel but not many with truly brown eyes. Surprised hazels are apparently so rare!

My DD and I have hazel eyes, but I didn't know this until DD told me a couple of years ago. She's 7, so I thought I had green eyes for years, just rubbish ones.

@MassiveSalad22 Thank you, DD's eyes are gorgeous (but I'm also biased). And like DS' they seem to change based on colour, light etc. They had this incredible gold outer layer the other day I hadn't seen before!

But in DH's extended family "proper" brown eyes are completely standard and normal. HIs are dark brown, his sister's are dark brown with flecks of gold/green, his nephews and nieces are all dark brown like his. And in my family "proper" blue eyes are completely standard because my siblings all married people with blue eyes .... DS and DD are the only children in our (large) extended family on my side who don't have blue eyes.
