Good morning all! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just enjoying my first cuppa of the day. I've got the window open so I can hear the birds, & the odd passing car too.

I don't think we'll do much today - we were out most of yesterday & then the girls went to bed after me, so I think it'll be a moochy kind of day. Dd2 bought a dvd so I think she'll watch that & dd1's been working her way through The Originals.

I have two props to finish painting for work, and might do the last bit of prep for Rainbows and Guides on Tuesday. We could do with a royal themed game of some sort for our Jubilee party but I've not come up with much yet 🤷‍♀️

Once I've done that, I want to get some more of the crochet stegosaurus done. He's taking me ages!

There's the usual house stuff to be done; floors to hoover/sweep, washing to be done 🙄 & I want to wash the sofa and chair cushions I think.

Not sure what's for tea yet; I'll see what the girls fancy when they get up.

What about all of you? 🙂

I'm sat on my bed drinking coffee listening to the birds 🐦

No plans today. Its been a crappy week insomnia wise so I've not been up to much.

I'm a Republican so no jubilee celebrations here...just another BH with the usual rubbish weather 🙂

I might see if dh wants to go for a walk somewhere.

I'll do the cleaning tomorrow

OldTinHat · 04/06/2022 10:07

Morning all! I'm just bundling up some books to sell via an app and then I'm off to town with a friend to watch the parade, visit the market, watch the entertainers, live bands and the big screen. I hope it stays dry!

Natsku · 04/06/2022 10:09

It was DD's last day of school today (they always do the last day on a Saturday as a celebration that parents can go to) so been to that and now we're off to the chinese restaurant for a buffet lunch to celebrate a good end of year report.

Probably won't do much the rest of the day, rubbish weather and tired from DS waking up several times in the night. Maybe sauna tonight.

Simonjt · 04/06/2022 10:12

Its the last full day of our holiday, we’re off to the puzzlewood later and going to a pub for lunch, but thats about it. We should pack and tidy, but we all know that will be a last minute rush job tomorrow morning.

We’re going to try and finish stranger things tonight.

Plantsandpuddlesuits · 04/06/2022 11:16

Morning @lucysmam

It's a moochy sort of day here too. Everyone seems very tired. Tomorrow we are off to a jubilee garden party so we are just relaxing today.

DC are all amusing themselves, teens still in bed but awake (I think!) Little ones are playing.

My plan for the day is to get lots of laundry put away how exciting! DH and I are away next weekend so want to get on top of things this weekend.

DH said he will take the little ones out to the park after lunch for a good run around.

Haven't decided on dinner yet, will be chicken based so probably curry, or possibly fajitas.

DH out with friends tonight so I've got the TV to myself 🤣

Thislittlekitten · 04/06/2022 11:44

Just about to start work. Such a beautiful day here wish I was off.

Kids all away at various activities.

No exciting plans for tonight. Might take kids to park when I finish. Let them run about and hopefully get a bit of sun

Darbs76 · 04/06/2022 12:15

Going into london with DD (14). We only live 30 mins away but we are staying the night. Hoping to hear some of the concert, or will just soak up the atmosphere. Hope to see the parade tomorrow, see how DD goes (low iron so tires easily but she wanted to come)

Lbnc2021 · 04/06/2022 12:18

Weather is glorious here, I’ve just tidied up, put a washing out and going to spend the afternoon reading a book in the garden.

KittenKong · 04/06/2022 12:21

Got a migraine so hacked off. Supposed to be going to a lunch I wasn’t really up for so feeling a bit guilty too.

notenoughtogoround · 04/06/2022 15:24

Hello! Love these threads so hope
this one picks up 👍
We are just back from holiday so washing, drying, cutting the grass and food shopping. Already miss the lazy pool days!

Biggest Small person has a sore ear. Smallest Small person is her usual delightful self. Biggest Small and I had haircuts today while everyone cooed over Smallest's hair (she has a LOT of hair).

I am making plans for Smallest's move. She will be leaving me at the end of July and I am dreading it even though it is absolutely right for her so I am staring to get all her memories together for her.

On Monday I am taking them both to stay on a farm for a few days as I think we all deserve a bit of a holiday. We are going to walk llamas and cuddle meerkats!

Dinner tonight is going to be sausage and chips then, once they are in bed, I will complete all my admin for the day (I have to do daily recordings for both of them).

LaBellina · 04/06/2022 15:36

Shopping and lunch with a friend and her toddler. We both want to visit the Disney store and see some second hand clothing shops then go to our favorite bakery for lunch.

Topseyt123 · 04/06/2022 15:43

I went up to the local recreation ground with DH and watched the fun dog show that is part of our small town's Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

All of our three DDs are grown up now, and this evening it will just be DH and I here. Bliss! We have decided we will have a takeaway curry from the local Indian restaurant.

DazedandConcerned · 04/06/2022 15:48

Sailing down the Nile towards Luxor. Weather is fab - and had a lovely day sailing around Kitchener Island and visiting the gardens.

Tonight is an Egyptian meal followed by a party!

@bloodywhitecat

You never fail to amaze me. You're one of the most amazing & strong people I 'know'.

I'm crying just thinking about smallest small leaving! I'm pleased you feel it's the best thing for her, that definitely helps, but still 😭.

I don't know how you do, what you do, even before everything you went through with DH💔

much admiration & love
xx

It's a chill day for me. I'm catsitting this week so went to visit the little munchkin this morning, and I've since just been catching up on life admin and housework, whilst intermittently browsing MN.

Treating myself to a Chinese takeout, glass of wine, and a movie later.

gingercat02 · 04/06/2022 16:16

Mornjng @Lucysmam. We are having a bit of a nothing day today. All pootled about doing our own thing this morning/afternoon.

DH went to look for shorts (and failed) DS and I are watching S2 of Alex Rider so we watched an episode of that. I've repotted some indoor plants.

DS will be watching the England match shortly.

Just killing time until I can collect our burgers for tea. Local restaurant does an amazing burger pop up now and again so they are worth waiting for. More than likely a glass of wine or two as well.

Babdoc · 04/06/2022 16:21

Played in a national bridge tournament online earlier - partner and I came joint fourth, so quite pleased. Now settling down to England: Hungary with a big glass of elderflower cordial, after sunbathing in the garden.

Camomila · 04/06/2022 17:13

My friend came round for a playdate with her two year old. We had a picnic on my living room floor then took the DC to the playground to play in the sand.

Apart from a 5 minute period where all 3 DC (I have 6 and 2 year olds) were crying, we had a lovely day....(the tears were because we wouldn't let the DC bike/scooter and made the little ones go on in pushchairs and the big one walk.)

bloodywhitecat · 04/06/2022 21:50

@JuneJubilee Thank you for your kind words. I can't believe she will soon be on her way, earlier in the week I couldn't even think about it and it still makes me well up. I keep going back through my photos from last year, the changes are staggering. Fostering is hard, building bonds means that every move forward for the children is just like another bereavement for me. Our little unit has been through so much in this last year and she has brought us so much joy. I will continue to get to meet up with her though which helps enormously.

@bloodywhitecat yes you have been through SO much this past year xx. Now this! As I said, I'm in awe of how strong you are. I would love to be able to foster, I think it's such a wonderful thing to do, but I don't have the emotional resilience required! I am surprised but really pleased you'll still be able to meet up with her. Give her extra hugs from her MN Aunties xx
