What sort of scam is this?

Why would someone message you seconds after posting an item for sale on Facebook? Asking for more photos to prove it wasn’t broken, then messaging repeatedly saying I want it, my friend can collect tomorrow? Hello, are you there? Hello? Please reply, hello?

I found it too pushy and thought this is a scam but I’m not sure how. So I deleted the item sale listing. Then she obviously searched my name and messaged me directly saying hello, I want this item? Please reply, hello? My friend will collect? So I blocked her.

Her lack of English was a red flag and the fact she kept harassing me. There was no location or friends or anything on her profile. She did have over 1k followers though which seemed odd. Is this a common scam and I’m not seeing how it works?

Some buyers are just a pain.

That quick sounds like a bot to me. Basically all automated until bot sense real sale potential. Then someone will offer to buy, and maybe give you 20% more than worth for the item if you can transfer £10 to the guy collecting in advance for petrol - then they rob your account! Don't fall for it!
