My chest jiggles constantly and it’s a bit embarrassing

Notbeinfunnehbut · 03/06/2022 13:10

ill start this off by saying I’m a bigger lady about 42F , but my cups are still bigger a little left over from breast feeding.

they seem to just jiggle constantly when I’m walking at a normal pace , they are quite full and lots of movement in them which I should probably be grateful for 😁
but people really do have a good stare , men and women alike and I’m a bit worried it’s not only embarrassing for me but my older sons if I’m out an about,

I know this is a ridiculous problem but I’m wondering if anyone else has suffered this in the past?

Have you had a proper fitting at bravissimo?

Oceanus · 03/06/2022 20:49

Fizbosshoes · 03/06/2022 20:39

Am I the only person who puts my top over the bra I'm trying, and does a bit of jumping around in the fitting room to check for bounce/jiggle? Blush

(and I've got A/B cups)

Sweety, with an A or a B cup you don't have the volume for the kind of jiggle the OP's talking about! hahah! Don't be offended, I'm a proud B cup now and my boobs won't jiggle regardless of the type of bra where's before not much could be done; they move but they won't Jiggle!

Mille are hideous and impossible to get in and out if without breaking an arm.

I'm a size 18/20 and wear a 36HH of 34J depending. I agree that balconettes don't work from a jiggle point of view. I like Freya and I buy them new on eBay, much cheaper. Definitely stop buying supermarket bras. Order a few sizes and try on / it's important that the centre front sits flat on your rib cage.

I pretty much only wore balconettes when I had big boobs! I'm so surprised they don't work for you.
I was wearing a 38B/C cup before I got measured and then found out I was a 34EE or F. I agree 100% it makes a massive difference to the "jiggling" to get the right size though, because then they'll be nice and snug so there won't be too much room for them to move around.

@ChiefWiggumsBoy I'm surprised you're a 36 back and wear a size 20.

I'm a size 10/12 on top and wear 34E. I don't know i could wear a smaller band, 34s always feel tight.

Before you go out, liberally spray your boobs with hairspray to keep them in place all day.

cobden28 · 03/06/2022 21:38

If you prefer to wear a bra in preference to going without, then you need to be properly fitted for a decnt bra by a lingerie fitter who knows what she's doing. Before our local Marks and Spencer closed a couple of years ago I used to go there every eighteen months or so to be properly measured for a bra.

I.m almost the same bra size as you (42E) but to be honest at this time of year I often choose to go without a bra, simply for comfort. To control the worst of the wobble and bounce I wear a camisole vest top underneath my blouse/teeshirt; as a dress size 22 I find the wobble of my chest is better controlled with a size 20 camisole (a size smaller than my normal size for tops).

badg3r · 03/06/2022 21:40

100% go to bravissimo and tell them what you have told us here. They are AMAZING

She didn't ask about weight, she asked about bras
Whether she wants to lose weight or not then she needs to wear something in the meantime
I'm a 34K and wear elomi bras as they fit me best

Say what?! Hairspray to stop the jiggling? Holy moly I'd never have thought of that! I'd heard of talcum powder, deodorant and that's it! Tbh looking back to when I had massive watermellon-sized boobs, I'm not sure whether hairspray would work but I'm curious now. 😲

WoolyMammoth55 · 03/06/2022 21:52

OP, you want a sports bra for sure - I wear this every time I leave my house:
www.bravissimo.com/products/impact-free-sports-bra-ro102/#black-ro102blk

I usually just wear a sleep bra or bralette around the house, or nothing if I'm feeling very lazy :) and you could wear this over the top of one of those if it was more comfy that way.

For any walking (let alone running!) in public, I've got way too much jiggle going on without something like this keeping the boobs under control!

It is high necked so means I don't wear low cut stuff anymore, but honestly don't miss it - got lots of lovely stuff that works with this neckline and just feel so much more confident this way.

Best of luck!

Erm, your bra clearly doesn't fit properly. But you seem to be enjoying the attention, so crack on.

Aren't you a peach! 😘😇

If you think M&S are good at bra fitting it's no wonder you'd prefer to go without!

And as for @FloweryCurtainTwitcher ODFOD.

Just fuck off, love. Women always putting women down for no reason, eh!

Bunty55 · 03/06/2022 22:50

Have you tried wearing sports bras. They minimise and give support

I agree with previous posters that it sounds like your current bras are a bad fit, perhaps in terms of shape and/or size. I recommend looking at A Bra That Fits Beginner's Guide.

A lot of women seem to like Bravissimo, but I am not at all a fan and whenever I went there to try to have a fitting (the occasions were years apart and with different staff) I always left feeling really bad about my body and none the wiser about what size I needed.

The subreddit I linked above, however, made a massive difference to my understanding of what suits my body and why my bras until that point had left me unsupported and in pain. I feel so much better about buying bras now.

It might sound over-the-top to some but I really think girls should be taught how to measure themselves correctly at school because of the potential negative emotional and physical impacts resulting from a poor fit. It wasn't until I was in my 20s that I realised bras were not actually supposed to hurt, or even be uncomfortable for that matter - I had never thought about the pain they caused me in any depth before and had unconsciously just put them into a similar category as very high heel shoes.

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 04/06/2022 03:08

I've found every single place I've gone to for measuring crap. I did the mn measuring guide thing and have been fine since

Mine aren't as big now but I've worn underwired sports bras for years and they're comfy and no jiggle

Um, I think your sarcasm detector might be broken.

Oceanus · 04/06/2022 10:21

You're right! I was definitely distracted by the other dick who posted a jibe about the OP's weight and I got a bit distracted by should I tell them to piss off or should I keep my mouth shut...? Then I got distracted because I didn't say anything and regretted it. Then my mind took on a life of its own and I found myself thinking some of the posters today (yesterday) are dcks! And today I got distracted by sb I thought had been a bit of a d*ck yesterday yet today decided to ask why people on MN are getting so mean! What's wrong with people!?

Think its this which is very similar to the info on the boob or bust website

By who?! Schools don’t have trained bra fitters hiding in cupboards!

SmellyWellyWoo · 04/06/2022 11:41

Does anyone else just have weirdly shaped/proportioned boobs? I have never been able to find a well fitting bra. Cups either seem to be too small or too roomy. I like full cup bras most of the time- hate any jiggle, nipple showing or the natural shape of my breast being visible. I always wear lightly padded/underwired. I'm not paranoid about my boobs but like to be as modest as possible due to my job and disliking the actual natural shape of my boobs.

My boobs themselves are VERY droopy with some fat/actual breast tissue. Bizarrely there is the most fat under my arms and despite only being a size 10/12 I very quickly get spillage over my bra strap. I often have to scoop the fat into my cups which again is why I like full cups.

I currently wear a 34E with some room in the cups but a DD cup feels too tight and I'm splurging out at the sides. know people will say I should wear a 32F or whatever but I HATE tight bra straps. Again despite being slim-ish, i have back fat as well and the spillage over the bra strap is horrible. I would also find a strap tighter than the ones I'm currently wearing very uncomfortable.

I don't want to spend loads on bras but if anyone has any recommendations for places let me know.
