Looking for motivation, what's everyone up to today?

This morning DH is prepping water damaged areas in bedroom this morning before we paint. I'm doing ironing. Filtered coffee (a treat here) and nice xmas biscuits we've just opened.

Not sure what else I fancy doing. DH would like to see others, but our friends are all busy/away. Pondering whether to go from a walk from home with leftover quiche, coucous and salad - luckily we have lots of walks locally.

Marking GCSE exam papers.

Sorting out washing and ironing this morning then going to see the new Top Gun movie at the cinema and a meal out. Hoping it stops raining as we need to walk to the station to get the train. Will try to catch a bit of the thanksgiving service on TV before we go. Very much hoping the weather is better tomorrow for our Jubilee barbecue!

So far I've bathed kids, put a wash on, cleared both the lines, baked 16 fairy cakes, washed up and just about to put all the winter coats into storage.

I'll need a nap by midday 😂

Plan is to go and collect DC2 from granny's (sleepover) and then head to a local jubilees fate. We've not really got into all the festivities but this one is local and I know a few of the kids friends will be there.

The home for a chill out (we were out all day yesterday and have plans tomorrow too)

I’m going to church in a bit and then I’m going shopping for food for our street party.

My husband also wants help to cut up some sheets of plywood.

Exciting!

So far we've walked the dog, I've done the laundry, hoovered and tidied up, made a strawberry meringue and put goulash in the slow cooker, now we're watching Waffle the bloody Wonder Dog before we go to the allotment this afternoon. I'm off work because I swapped my day off.

Off to see The Killers, can't wait!

Very lazy morning. Had pancakes for breakfast now DC are having some screen time whilst I have a coffee. Pre holiday haircuts for the boys of the house later on. A very slow one for us, just some prep for going away on Monday!

Absolutely pouring down here.....Soft play this morning just for an hour, then laundry putting away this afternoon while children play then this evening we are planning a film and pizza while watching it the children love this as a special treat! Probably pop the film on around 5, carpet picnic, then straight into bedtime routine. A lovely chilled day.

My lovely cul de sac neighbours and some close friends are coming over for a bbq this afternoon .

Heading off for a quick beach walk shortly. Then to a nearby cul-de-sac around 1pm for a street party - been invited by a resident I know and will be good to meet other nearby neighbours. Buffet style for the afternoon then they’re doing a bbq tonight.

Haven’t been out for ages so am looking forward to it. Thankfully it’s dry and sunny here. today.

Ooh have a lovely time! I’m going to see them next Saturday.

Pouring down and dark here. We have no plans, and DH somehow didn't go to sleep till half 4 this morning, so I guess that's a good thing! 😂

Browisng mumsnet rather than doing anything more productive. Trying to resist doing some work as I need and deserve the time off, but I'm quite bored.
There is a ton of house work that needs doing but I'm crampy and can't be arsed.

I could really do with a novel that sucks me in, but can't seem to settle on one at the moment, and staring at a page feels a bit too close to reading reams and reams of student essays/exams, unless it's something really really really good.

That all sounds much more meh than I actually feel 😅

I want to be doing that.

Working all weekend. Step sister has enquired what I’m doing with DM ‘for the bank holidays’. I live closest to DM but never get bank holidays off work.
I don’t actually mind working and having time off later but enquiries like ‘is she coming to stay with you?’ do my head in!

Did a buffet yesterday and loads of leftovers so I'll put that out. Bit of tidying up to do. Need to help ds2 make a collage for monday. Found a great pub a few days ago with a brilliant play area for the kids and the food smelled amazing so I might ask Dh if we could go later (doubt he'll take much persuading 😀)

Writing the last of my reports while DH watches the cricket and DD revises.

Lunch here, then planting out the last of my seedlings. If anyone in SW6 wants some Zinnias - let me know!

Off to see To Kill a Mockingbird this evening - tickets originally booked for June 2020!!! Can't wait.

DHs best mate is visiting from London this afternoon, we are going to go to the beach and then go back to ours for tacos.

DH took the DC to the park this morning so I could make the chilli, now just got to run around tidying up.

Getting ready to go to work. Bit disappointed because my village is having a huge jubilee street party today and I won't get to attend even a bit of it due to my shift! 🙁

Not in the UK so not a holiday day today but DS is finished with nursery already so we've been making banana bread and playing with lego, while DD has been at school for her last proper day though they didn't actually do much, mostly just watched the 6th graders play Finnish baseball (important distinction - its a much better game than American baseball!) against the teachers.

Going to make some salsa soon for tacos later and then do my daily round of the garden to check how everything is growing. I have no idea about gardening so this check is mostly pointless but it makes me feel like I'm doing something...
