Hi
I'm looking for some non campsite (wild) camping places near Rhayder / Elan valley where I could park up my camper van overnight. Its really small , not much larger than an estate car.

Car parks , lay by, etc

Happy to pay for parking.

Any ideas much as appreciated.
Thanks

Please check if this still applies: in Powys you can stay overnight in any Powys CC car park for one night in 7. They display an overnight charge.
I can recommend Hay on Wye. Huge car park just behind the high Street. There are toilets in the car park too, if you don’t have your own onboard.
In Brecon you can park next to the canal overnight.

Also, look at a website called MotorhomeFun, you’ll probably get coordinates for an exact parking space on there.

You wouldn't go unnoticed in Hay. They'd be all over the local Facebook groups reporting it if not knocking on the door asking what you're up to.

Thanks for the posts.

Hadn't thought of hay.

Thanks for the heads up about the Powys cc regulations , I'll check that out.

Camp sites can n often cost £20 a night send can also be a 2 night minimum. That plus fuel limits my options.
Though I saw in Ludlow today overnight parking is fine , just have to pay the required fee. So I'll look out for car parks in Wales that offer the same or have a break in Ludlow.
