He gave me the 'third' cup. Should I LTB?

Disclaimer: Lighthearted

DH made me a post dinner cup of tea as he always does but he gave me it in the third best cup when the two better cups were clean and in the cupboard right beside cup three. He knows my preferences. What is going on here? Should I LTB for this flagrant breach of cup etiquette?

I had a different problem, dd came back from university and used my favourite cup last night and another one so when I went to make the morning coffee there was one of each not a matching set for dp and I. I have now hidden my favourite mugs

Absolutely LTB but first make sure you smash the 3rd cup over his head.

My though was LTB and take every single cup except the third cup with you. If he thinks it's such a good choice of cup he can have it

It was my birthday recently and I got 3 new horrible mugs which are now sitting in my cupboard mocking me

I was given one with an 'amusing' sweary slogan printed on it for Christmas. It joins a collection of bone china all with white interiors, suitably tasteful decorations on the outside and have been carefully selected for volume, balance and shape.

It pains me every time I see in in the cupboard where I keep trying to hide it never mind when it comes out and tea is put into it. He believes he did good in that it's white.

And then I look inside the mug and see he's either added more than the faintest whisper of milk or, worst of all, it's a good cuppa but only 2/3 full.

He's a monster.

DH has taken to making my tea in one of my massive Starbucks cities mugs. They've been on display in the kitchen for years and now suddenly Dubai is in usage. I can't understand why, we have seventy zillion mugs but he's reached up to The Shelf and taken this one down. He's been told but it keeps reappearing. I'm confused and a bit disturbed tbh.

Haha! Why do we all have houses full of cups we hate to use? That's the real question... Sometimes it's like mine reached all the way to the back of the cupboard where the spiders live and picked a mug from there. What is he trying to tell me?!

My monster of a DH let my DC choose mug to buy me (they're toddlers/ younger child). It's very sweet, and of course I love it, but it's also terrible for actual drinking tea from, the wrong shape and much lower capacity than my preferred one. So now I get stuck with it all the time because it's "mummy's favourite".

My dad had a favourite mug. He would only drink out of that mug. It had a chip so one year to be helpful me and my sister bought him a new one. He put it in the display cabinet 😂
Which is now also where his prized mug lives. I don’t know why he loved it so much, it’s actually aimed at women and was bought for my mum (I can’t remember what it looks like off the top of my head but it’s got some sort of joke about dresses not fitting) but I guess it was just the perfect size and shape.

I’ve also just remembered another year we got him a mug (took us a while to get the hint) and that one became a toothbrush mug.

i only really like hot drinks out of mugs with white/light insides. Dark insides taste different. Maybe because the colour is different so I get the milk ratio wrong?

Absolute LTB. There is an obvious slight happening here- I'd be really upset and have to confront him. What have you done to cause such aggression?!?!

MrJollyLivesNextDoor · 03/06/2022 08:50

At my house DP has a preferred mug which has a coloured inside - his tea always looks like dishwater whereas mine looks and tastes proper as it has been made in a suitable mug.
