Just wondering what everyone is up to?

As this weekend looks pretty bleak as I don't have many friends... 😣

If it makes you feel any better, we spent an hour or so stuck on a local train that broke down, then got off, walked to a bus stop and got the bus home. There was an alternative of standing around until they moved the train on and a new one came too. But, frankly, walk and bus sounded much better.

Finished a painting for an art competition. Then this afternoon I fell asleep for two hours.

Working every day. Yay. The joys of healthcare.

We went to Trafalgar Square to watch the planes and see what else was on (not loads). We'll go to a local thing later (music, fountains, beacon).

We have outdoor plans for the other days too but I'm worried about the forecast for Sunday.

I lost my Mum 10 days ago and when she found out she was terminally ill in February she said she would be happy if she made it to the jubilee. So, its a really difficult time for me.

However, I'm the one arranging the funeral, so I'm getting on with that, chilling in the sun and trying to enjoy the pageantry without sobbing.

Like many others, I am spending it alone (bar two poorly little ones who both need lots of cuddles and attention), missing DH and wishing I could turn back time. I did put out some decs because I had threatened him I would. I would kill for a bit of adult company right now.

@Kezzie200 so sorry to hear about your mum, losing someone is really hard Flowers

NearlyHeadlessNick · 02/06/2022 18:04

@Kezzie200 so sorry to hear that Flowers

feeling lonely here! I'm normally quote happy with my own company so think it must just be the events making me feel it.
DH is away for the weekend with his scout group. Kids are both under 5 and exhausted so now asleep after being grumpy all day.
Family all away on different holidays,, and not a huge circle of friends.

Figuring out what to do for the rest of the long weekend.

For the first time this year I have two child free days when I'm not working.

I've bumbled around town trying on clothes (not normally possible), bought a T-shirt and a pair of crops, then had a coffee at my favourite cafe by the canal. Home, lunch, snoozed in the sun. Done some weeding, nattered to neighbours.. Will cycle to the pub in a bit.

Tomorrow - I'm having a lie in. 😎

kezzie200 so sorry about your Mum 💐💐💐
Jas5mum if your OH isn’t your DH, I would advise you very strongly not to marry him! Your post was so sad. Please find someone that doesn’t call you names & make you cry 💐💐💐

I've gone to London with DH and DD to visit dsil. Other in laws there.

Shergill15 · 02/06/2022 18:37

Went to a local shop/cafe today for tea and cake. They had some Jubilee themed crafts on for the kids which DD enjoyed. We're visiting friends tomorrow and Saturday then Sunday will be spent catching up on housework and getting ready for going back to work and school on Monday
