Want to to do monsal trail today... will parking be a nightmare? Should I even bother going? I'll get there around noon...

We were in matlock bath yesterday and it was absolutely heaving!! I think you would need to get there earlier....

Where were you intending parking?

I tried to park at Hassop station nr Bakewell (DE45 1NW) to do a dog walk at start of Easter school hols, couldn't park but there was a field across the road for overflow parking. There is a nice cafe at the station and access straight onto the trail.

Today looks like the best day weather wise so it will be busy!

It will be packed, theres overflow parking on a field just across the road from the main entrance, not sure if that will be full by lunch time though

FuckingNoise · 02/06/2022 08:59

Fuck that. I already have the temper of Satan. I'll go somewhere local today and save PD for a rainy Tuesday...

We always get to the Peaks around 0830. It means getting up early but worth it.

Agree with your decision. Weather is often good in September, worth thinking about it then.
