Sorry to interrupt, I've been playing Redactle after finding your threads but not posting. But I've been travelling and have not managed to keep up and so I have been trying, and getting a few key words, but when I refresh the answer bears no relation to what I've been doing. So 2 questions:


  • Does anyone have the answers to Redactles 64-68 and are you allowed to tell me them?

  • What time (UK) does Redactle refresh?

Thank you @InMySpareTime that has really helped me make sense of where I was getting to with my answers. I was heading in the right direction with some of them but clearly missed a whole game. Namely 'sitcom' - how on earth did you get that in 2? Respect!

@alterego2 with Sitcom, I noticed XXXXX on in the text. The italics meant it was a title so I figured "Carry on", so I typed comedy. Where that word appeared in the opening paragraph showed it was a kind of subset of comedy, and was 6 letters long from the box length.
Putting that together with Carry On gave me Sitcom.

@InMySpareTime Carry On wasn't actually mentioned in yesterday's article... I tried Carry! Just read the article and it was a New Zealand comedy called "Gliding On".

I saw At XXXX With The (italics therefore a title in the Sitcom one which led me to fill in Home (after initially mistyping it Angry which was correct. That made me think about TV shows so I guessed Television which lit up the screen like Blackpool Illuminations so it was obviously a form of telly. That led me back to XXXXX-up in the first paragraph which I'd already suspected was stand-up so made me think comedy so I had a lucky stab at sitcom which was right.

My first guess yesterday was series, from the style of the various partial titles plus words suggestive of duration. Then television, which I probably shouldn't have bothered with. Then thinking about the first paragraph lead to sitcom.

@Aroundtheworldin80moves in that case I'm even more impressed that I got it in two. I didn't actually read that article once I revealed it as I don't really care about learning the definition of sitcom, I do read the ones that take me ages or ones I don't know anything about (I read today's).

I swear I'm getting worse instead of better at this 😅
I think I find pedantle easier because I can put in general words like country or place or person and it will guide me to what the word will be. Still crap at that one though compared to most. But i do enjoy them.
