Friendship threesome

My ds (10) has 2 close friends. The others used to be v close but now one has grown more attached to my ds. The third friend isn't left out and often plays with others, there's no falling out. But their parent! Constantly implying (to myself and others) my son has taken away the best friend, in that passive aggressive way. I'm a patient person but I'll admit it's starting to get to me now. Kids can play with who they want! We have play dates with both separately. Should I say something, or keep quiet? I hate being made to feel my son's done something wrong. Is it jealousy?! Three's a crowd, I guess.
