Or is it just first time applications?
If i apply today, does anyone know the chances of me getting it by the end of June?..

Assuming i can even get a fast tack appointment, can I circumvent my existing digital application and try that way?

mommandme · 15/06/2022 21:01

We sent ours off early May, just got a notification to say it'll be back by next week. Adult renewal (but old had expired pre Covid)

ForAFriend123 · 15/06/2022 21:41

Just received text that it's been approved and gone for printing. Does that means it's imminent?

Bellaphant · 15/06/2022 22:07

Oh god, I sent my documents for my kids' first passports to Peterborough, on the Tuesday after Easter, having applied online. They royal mail signed for, but it didn't update that they had them for another three weeks. I've called them - they got sent to Belfast?? We leave in 2.5 weeks and have called to complain, as they weren't in 'processing' for basically a month after I sent them, but no real response.

MarmiteCoriander · 15/06/2022 22:12

I actually posted yesterday about my passport renewal which I got back within a month. I would have got it back within about 2 weeks if I'd sent my other passports off quicker!

Mumofboys1 · 15/06/2022 22:21

We have just done 2x adult renewals (sent off mid April) which took 3 weeks, and 2 x new passports for the kids, they took 5 weeks. Good luck!

bloodyunicorns · 15/06/2022 22:26

3 weeks here! Renewal.

Candyflosscrochet · 16/06/2022 07:25

@ForAFriend123 I'd say within the week...mine was approved Friday and was due to be delivered yesterday (rearranged until Friday as was out and do not want to miss that delivery!!).
@Bellaphant I know they only escalate if its been over 10 weeks, however there's another process they can trigger when you have 2 weeks before you travel....you might have to stressfully wait until then (but just keep calling...I found phoning at 8am worked as avoided a lot of the queue!) Good luck!!

inigomontoyahwillcox · 16/06/2022 07:35

DDs only took about 2 and a half weeks last month.

Oioicaptain · 16/06/2022 07:39

Yes and no. One kids passport came back really quickly. The other has disappeared into the mire.

OttersMayHaveShiftedInTransit · 17/06/2022 09:18

My application submitted on 23/04 and ID confirmed on 24/04 was showing as 'being processed' since 29/04 I've just logged on to check for any sign of progress and it appears to have gone backwards! Now the last entry is the ID confirmation on the 24th. Has anyone else had this?

Hapoydayz · 17/06/2022 09:22

I got mine back within 2 weeks. I did it using the post office service.

prettybird · 17/06/2022 09:54

@OttersMayHaveShiftedInTransit - everyone's applications have gone back a stage. It's not just you. It's apparently a glitch in their system. Doesn't reflect on where they actually are Confused

Ahh thanks - two more weeks and they will actually allow me to chase it up. It would be nice to actually be able to book a holiday for the first time in seven years.

prettybird · 17/06/2022 10:34

Three and half weeks for us to go. Awaiting dh's passport but fortunately have no holidays booked but would like to go away.

Straightforward renewal Confused

Ds' child to adult renewal took about 2 weeks in - mid April to 3 May (the day I sent off dh's old passport) Confused

Madmog · 17/06/2022 10:44

DD lost her passport (so a replacement). She still had to go through verification which needed extra checks as she's abroad for a year, so her address is different to her home address here. It took 40 days for her to receive new passport (surprisingly it only took two days to reach her abroad after confirmation it had been approved).

OttersMayHaveShiftedInTransit · 17/06/2022 11:59

It's the random-ness of it and the fact the applications are clearly not being processed in order that is so frustrating. I fells like mine has been slung on pile somewhere and others are now being tossed on top and looked at first. It can't be that difficult to deal with online orders in the order that they were received!
