Do you have any in honour of your children?

If so, what do you have? Names? Birthdays? Something that reminds you of them? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Anyone brave enough to share pictures? 😊

My buddy has 3 butterflies on her calf 1 pink above 2 blue as her eldest child is a daughter and then 2 sons followed.

Metalandtea · 31/05/2022 22:16

I have a sleeve including an image that each of my children chose which reflects them. I wouldn’t have names or dates tattooed - I’m not a fan of those sorts of tattoos and like that only we know what the images in my sleeve mean.

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 31/05/2022 22:16

I have butterflies on my arm

LibertineCapsAndCowboyChaps · 31/05/2022 22:20

My daughter wrote this for me in a Valentine card when she was 5. If not long been diagnosed bipolar and I kept the card on my bedside table and it made me smile every single time I saw it, no matter how low I felt. So I got it inside my right forearm. It's been 10 years and it still mages me smile every single time I saw it.

I also got the other one to commemorate the Best Good Girl ever. She was a top dog.

Nc for obvious reasons 😊

I have 3 magpies for dd1 (3 for a girl)

And dd2 is called Lyra as I loved the name after reading his dark materials, so for her I'm planning to get an alethiometer

CambsAlways · 31/05/2022 22:56

No I haven’t got my childrens names on mine just tributes to parents and my husbands name , my husband has the childrens names

Doghairismyglitter · 31/05/2022 23:04

Rosiepeta · 31/05/2022 23:06

I have my children's names and part of the E.E Cummings poem
'I carry your heart,

Cotherstone · 31/05/2022 23:07

I have the kids names in morse code on my shoulder, then another tattoo each for them - a tree that shares a name with DS, and a lighthouse for DD, as that links to her name.

I'd be careful of posting highly identifiable pictures of your tattoos everyone...

RedSoloCup · 31/05/2022 23:09

I have my kids first and middle names written in the shape of a heart on my back.

This is why name change exists. I change my name every week or two.

Notateacheranymore · 31/05/2022 23:15

Not kids but I have a DNA strand on my thigh and on each upright, I have Morse code of my parents’ first initials. Two dash is my dad, three dash dot is my mum (RIP).

I'm not talking about your neighbour at no. 61 knowing your MN username.

If someone was looking to, say, try and access MN accounts to get email addresses, then they might look for things which people commonly use as passwords (and MN may be boring, but people re-use passwords across many platforms). For instance, they might want children's names and birthdays? Very common passwords. The kind of information which might be in the photos OP has asked for.

Name change or not, I'm just saying to be careful what information you post online.

Branleuse · 31/05/2022 23:22

I have several tattoos, but none honouring my children.

NealSeal · 31/05/2022 23:27

@LibertineCapsAndCowboyChaps

Your Ddog tattoo is so lovely, it made me cry a little.
Had a very poor experience at the Vets yesterday, where my Ddog was manhandled and stressed so anything ‘doggy’ makes my eyes leak🙄
That tattoo is just beautiful, did you think of it yourself?

P.S. my Ddog is fine now, snoring on my bed next to me.

ReachersAbs · 31/05/2022 23:27

I have the adoption symbol, my kids are adopted and I obviously have no biological link to them as you would as a birth parent, so this is a permanent physical connection to my kids. They know exactly why I have it and they love it.

My DS is 3 and I still haven't worked out what I want to get. I'm hopeful that this thread will give me some ideas!🤞

TheMumLife3 · 31/05/2022 23:36

I have 3 children - I had my first tattoo in Dec 2021. That was a drawing of a heart and my sons name which he drew/wrote himself (he's only 4). I'll be doing the same for my other 2 children when they're a bit older (they're only 2 years and 1 year so a little young). I then have a big tattoo running from my shoulder, across and down my chest and down my ribs. This consists of my children's birth flowers, my DH birth flower and my 2 favourite flowers. I also have 4 bumblebees amongst it to represent the 4 of them. I have a tattoo booked in for August and this will be a thumb print of each of my children formed into a heart which I'll be having on one of my wrists.

TheDoveFromAboveCooCoo · 31/05/2022 23:37

I am currently having one designed. A black rose with a ruby in the centre to honour both my children.

dancinginthesunliteee · 31/05/2022 23:46

I have my children's names on my neck
Then I have their birth flowers on my foot
Due to have a branch on my arm after my next pregnancy with a mummy bird and then 4 little birds to represent my children, and the new birth flower and name added !! X

custardbear · 31/05/2022 23:53

No, really not my thing but friends have done this too
