... And you thought the gig might end late and you'd miss the last train to your home in the sticks north of Cambridge, where would you park?

I'm taking my son (17) and two friends to a gig there on a Sunday, and I'm thinking it would be best to drive them into London. The tube will still be running so they could catch the tube out to somewhere and I could pick them up from there? Maybe Finsbury Park as that is a straight run on the Piccadilly line? Or is that a terrible idea?

We use Epping for the tube if it’s too late for the train. It’s at the end of the central line and easy to get too from the M11 Harlow junction.

Westfield shopping centre in Shepherd's Bush, just up the road from the Apollo and just off the Westway through London.

Thanks so much, both of you! I'm a bit nervous about them taking the tube for an hour late at night, not sure why realistically. I'm sort of trying to minimise overall travel time as they will have school the next day, but I'm not sure how awful driving in London will be on a Sunday afternoon/night.

People who do this a lot will no doubt think I'm being ridiculous but after years of my own chronic illness and horrible deaths in the family and a pandemic and all sorts, I'm just nervous!

What will you do while they're at the gig ?

riverpebbles · 31/05/2022 15:12

I actually don't know. Sit in my car if necessary, but if its in a shopping centre I might shop :)

I often park in Kilburn on the roads around Nw67TG (Clarence, plymptin, Brondesbury and a few others). Its not far from the north circular.

Westfield in Shepherds Bush is big and they have plenty of restaurants. I haven’t been for ages but I think they have a cinema upstairs don’t they?

@Divebar2021

Yes, the Vue.
