I wondered how much you are paying now if you have a regular monthly bill- rather than a variable bill each month...

This has been done several times. If you search, you'll find a few recent threads.

You're basically asking for a random number.

Many people's direct debit is only an approximation of their regular bill, but no-one seems to care unless they get massively in credit and their supplier won't give it back, or they get into huge debt and are then surprised when their supplier wants to double what they pay.

Then we have variations due to different property sizes, insulation, heating system, temperature preferences, number of people and amount of showering and laundry that happens, tariff differences and probably more. None of which might be anywhere near what your life looks like.

Why do you ask? :-)

Our supplier, who we are generally happy with, had offered us a new monthly rate of just under £200 per month - gas and electric combined. We live in a 3/4 bed terraced property but as our children are grown up and we keep heating low, only use the washing machine a couple of times a week max, I suspect our figures are less than many other families with small children and who like their thermostat set higher have been hit with. (We are, in fact, opting to pay according to monthly usage.)
