Antihistamine and sudafed?

Am currently camping and suffering from a really congested nose and generally feeling rubbish. I do suffer from hayfever and take prescribed fexofenadine for it, although it hasn't been too bad this year so far. My children have also had a cold over the past week and now it seems they might have shared it with me as antihistamine is not having much of an effect on my congestion and sneezing. Can I take sudafed at the same time as antihistamine? 🙏

Yes you can.
You shouldn’t take Sudafed for longer than a week though.

Sudafed does the opposite of anti histamine though in terms of mucus. First tries to loosen it, latter dries it up.

Sudafed is a magic drug if you get cold badly. But it always gives me a headache from the way it tightens up all the capillaries or whatever.

Thanks everyone. Good point on the mucus @RandomMess ! I have a headache with whatever I've got anyway so am happy to give sudafed a go for a few days. It's been so long since I've been able to take it due to breastfeeding I can't remember how it affects me! Will stop by the chemist tomorrow.

Sinus pain is a fairly common Covid symptom tbf.

Pharmacist told me to stop taking anti histamines whilst on Sudafed.

Have done plenty of LFTs on the whole family over the last week or so - all very negative. Will talk to the pharmacist later. Thanks for replying!
