I jointly own a house with someone I know, (I'll call them C) we aren't really friends (long boring story)but we get on enough to discuss things to do with the house and other trivialities.
It's a long way from where I live now. I also have a tenant in the house who I do get on fine with, no problems there.
Tenant has contacted me to say that C has ripped all the bathroom wall materials off, exposing the bare brick. Tenant sent me photos of such, and said that there's now a huge gap between the bath and the wall so stairs become flooded whenever they shower and the bath is unusable. Damaging the structure of the house obviously, with potential for more.
Tenant has also told me that C has said he's going to text me and 'try to catch me out' on a breach of verbal contract about work on the house'. Tenant doesn't know any more than this and I am stumped as to how he could do this-but in any case C has already done this 'work'.
I am upset if it devalues the house obviously but I am assuming that if C plans on fixing it, there's not much I can do/say to C?
Tenant doesn't want me to contact him and make it known that tenant has told me.
Any advice?
