The worst thing I have ever seen though was an episode of Futurama where, after he falls into the cryogenic chamber, Fry’s dog waits for him year after year and pines until it dies of old age. Wasn’t a dry eye in our house including teenage boys at the time. If repeat comes on tv now I have to flick off immediately.
That's a reference to Hachi

I haven't even seen this (!) - but a Marina Hyde column in the Guardian last week made reference to a scene with Ray Liotta in Hannibal. I followed the link - I don't even know how people think these things up! I've felt sick ever since.

For similar reasons I had to stop watching Sons of Anarchy, it just got so unpleasant - I just can't get over what goes on in people's heads to write things like that.

For TV series I’m surprised nobody seems to have mentioned Six Feet Under. Some of the death scenes each episode begins with have stayed with me always. The episode with the kidnap is tense throughout. The final series and particularly the last episode where we say our final goodbye to all the characters completely undid me. I was heavily pregnant when I binge watched it which didn’t help.
