I want to get the garden sorted and it’s either mizzly or cold wind …it’s just not been that nice…

South east here, cold and annoying

I'm afraid I might be to blame...I bought a couple of sun loungers and sun cream. The loungers are still in the boxes and the sun cream's sitting on top of the fridge. I've jinxed the weather haven't I? 😳

Weve had two BBQs this month and needed suncream I think the weather has been great! It’s had odd cold days but offset by lovely warm ones. Saturday was lovely…

The weather has been ok here, not the best, overcast, cool and dry.

Generally sunny first thing to lure you in, then cloudy day once you're committed to a summer dress at work, then sun out in the evening when I want to go for a run. Yesterday I wore a long sleeved running top and was really chilly.

We've had about 2 days rain since Easter. No mow May has failed slightly as it's so dry nothing much is growing!

When the sun bursts through the clouds it's warm though.

We have been working on our garden since March and it's finally finished and ever since it's been cold and raining and we are unable to enjoy it yet.
Planted loads of plants and flowers too so I'm hoping they all love this wet weather and will thrive.

West of Scotland here and I think I've sat in the garden twice this year! I do manage to get washing dry outside every now and again but that's mainly because it's been so bloody windy.

BarbaraofSeville · 30/05/2022 12:43

It's been dry most of the time here, but mostly cooler and windy and enough rain for the grass to grow far too fucking much. The fall out from No Mow May is going to be a chore to deal with, it's knee height at the front, despite being cut the first weekend in May.

I'd just like to be able to sit out in the sun with a drink and a book, close my eyes and imagine I'm on holiday in the sun.

It hadn’t been that bad here and I’ve managed to sit out with my coffee, with my jumper on, but a lot of the time hasn’t been very inviting. Hoping this means things will just get better towards June/ July and we’ll have a fantastic summer like we did a couple of years ago…

School holidays start, weather gets worse. Schools return it gets better. Best day of 2021 was the first day of the school autumn term!!

North Herts has been amazing for the last twelve weeks tbh! No sustained rain and only one very cold snap early on. I've got tonnes and tonnes done, lots of lunches sat out there, basking at 18 degrees for weeks.

BogRollBOGOF · 30/05/2022 14:46

It's been a mixed, average spring with cool breezes here. It's taken longer than usual to get summer running gear out, but there's been warmth in direct sun. April was dry, and it's been good for growing to get some May rain.

It's been a reasonable spring for gardening. Not necessarily for relaxing around outside though.

I'm loitering somewhere round the middle.

Leeds here. 10 degrees when I was out at lunchtime, then it started raining. The central heating has turned itself on! I was saying yesterday to my sister that the weather has been awful since Easter. We've had a handful of sunny days, and we're still lighting the fire in the evening.
