I'm so nervous our holiday flights will be cancelled this week. I don't know whether to pack. I'm trying not to get excited after this trip being cancelled last year due to Covid restrictions. Uhhhhhh 😬

In the absence of a crystal ball you probably won't know if there's a problem until much closer to the time. I would go with the thinking of 'hope for the best but plan for the worst'.

Do your packing, stay positive and remember that the news focuses on the holidays that are disrupted and not the hundreds of flights that go out as planned.

That said I would be considering what my 'Plan B' might be... can you cancel accommodation and car hire quickly if needed, would you be happy to wait at the airport and just book the next available flights to somewhere different, could you look online and see what other options might be available last minute, could you have a 5-day break instead of a week, do you have a credit card that you could book with while you are waiting for a refund, is there a UK option that you could book last minute?

Lots of questions but I'm always happier if I've at least thought through a contingency option. Fingers crossed that everything goes ok and you get away as planned.

Due to fly this afternoon, dont want to get to excited after seeing all the cancellations on the news 😥

I have absolutely no way of knowing for sure but I would hope that if they have done a round of cancellations covering flights on several days as the news reports then they have already rationalised their schedule to what they can staff so shouldn't be voluntarily cancelling more. That means it will be unexpected things like weather or aircraft breaking etc which is still a risk but that's normal at any time if the year and doesn't happen loads.

Fingers crossed for you.

We're flying EasyJet from Manchester to Copenhagen this morning and had no problems at all

They cancelled our flight 😡 and booked us on one that evening, meaning we lose a day of an already quite short holiday. We rebooked to the day before and arranged a hotel, but we’re very annoyed. Won’t fly with EasyJet again if we can help it. They’re not a cheap option these days either.

ChatoilLeam it's not just easyJet. It's all UK airlines at the moment. It's due to covid and the huge impact it's had on aviation.
