what would you spend £50 of John Lewis/Waitrose vouchers on?

Not clothes, I have a wardrobe full and I really don't need anything.

I always start browsing the website but there's just so much stuff and I always spend ages looking and not buying.

Most recently I used some on a decent pair of running trainers, if I hadn't needed those it probably would have been a kitchen gadget I don't really need or a lamp I do need! I tend to use vouchers either as part payment for something I couldn't otherwise afford, or to buy something for myself that I consider indulgent rather than necessary.

I had this said same dilemma recently. I bought some make up that I was loathe to pay for myself. Treat yourself to a pot of expensive face cream maybe???

A coffee machine :) or some trainers or boots

Perfume or bedding. Failing that, a trip to Waitrose all by myself throwing in all I want from
the deli and wine sections.

I've recently used JL vouchers for a mascara and some nice face cream with SPF that I would've liked anyway but wouldn't have spent that much money on

I recently bought myself a Diptyque candle from JL as a fancy treat. Don't usually splurge on things like that but had an Xmas gift card to use.

Something you wouldn't usually spend cash on.

I'd get the neom 'deStress' reed diffuser. I love the smell but at £38 it's more than I'd justify buying... a friend bought it for me as a gift knowing I'd like the smell in the shop and I love it!

Or some decent kitchen tools... good wooden sooons/chopping board/cheese grater etc. again, the one I wouldn't spend the extra on but would like to own

Just my normal weekly shop at Waitrose and use the £50 I didn't spend there on something I really want from a retailer of my own choice.

ELM8 · 29/05/2022 13:57

Another vote for a solo Waitrose trip:

  • nice wine
  • olives
  • deli stuff

I could easily spend £50 just getting things I like the look of

A couple of bottles of really good wine.

gingercat02 · 29/05/2022 14:01

My JL vouchers go on Origins skincare or occasionally Jo Malone cologne

Bras. They're one of the few places I can get H cup bras.
