My kids love 80s pop (from having it permanently on the car radio- gotta catch’em young!) so a lot of songs have come back to me through them. A-Ha, Eurythmics, George Michael, Phil Collins…but my personal favourite is

Addicted to Love by Robert Palmer.
That video!

I agree also with your choices @Daisyhoney loved Story of the blues, thought Pete Wylie had an amazing voice, and loved all of Big Country, especially Chance.

Brothers In Arms!! Have you seen that bit on the West Wing? Always gives me goosebumps!

I'm not scared - Eighth Wonder. Absolute banger
Enola Gay and Tesla Girls by OMD

tothesea · 28/05/2022 09:56

I have to pick the songs that when I hear them unexpectedly give me such a rush of nostalgia it almost brings tears to my eyes…Souvenir OMD and, even more so now, See You Depeche Mode. RIP Fletch. End of an era.

MissCalamity · 28/05/2022 10:07

Tiffany - I think we're alone now, that's when I started being interested in music when I was about 7.

JustTheOneSwan · 28/05/2022 12:14

Absolute 80's has been on since 10.
If the weather warms up I can see it turning into a cider and pot noodle tribute day 😯
Dangerous to start a thread like this bank holiday weekend!

AlecTrevelyan006 · 28/05/2022 12:49

if you have a spare four minutes this video of OMD live in 1981 is superb - if only for the shots of the crowd towards the end. Anyone of a certain age will ‘recognise’ themselves.

suckingonchillidogs · 28/05/2022 13:06

So nice to see the love for OMD on here Smile

Life in a northern town Dream Academy

Plus a thousand others, I loved the 80's

suckingonchillidogs · 28/05/2022 13:31

That looks great @AlecTrevelyan006 - but currently out of stock, will have to check back another time!

Yes to Absolute 80s. Heart 80s is also good!

I'd also like to mention a german online radio channel (well, series of channels) called 80s80s.

Herecomesthesun1976 · 28/05/2022 18:34

So many I loved at the time and others I came to appreciate later. However, if we’re going back to my nightclub days, Push It, Theme from S Xpress and for the slow dance Let’s wait awhile!
