What can I make with overripe bananas?

Title says it all. I'm not very adventurous with cooking but is there anything I could make with 4 bananas? I don't want to through them out but a simple recipe would be great, especially if it was aimed at kids

I’ve got a lovely recipe for chocolate banana brownie. I make it every week.
hang on & I’ll copy it & post

Banana pancakes - mash up, mix with an egg and a bit of sugar if wanted, and fry.

DH says they're better than the "real" ones
They're seeet so kids tend to love them. Smile

I do Nigella's banana loaf cake - easy and always turns out well.

Chop up, stick in the freezer. Blend into banana ice-cream

This is easy and more like cake than bread (I bake it in a square cake tin)

Banana bread cake. The BBC food recipe is good. Even better with Choc chips added in.

chocolate and banana cake recipe.

It’s a healthy one. I cut it into 9 portions and it’s only around 150 calories for a piece.

30g butter -melted
125g S.R flour
1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
50g cocoa powder
1 large egg
2tbsp milk
1 tsp vanilla essence
300g mashed banana
25g chocolate chips. I use dark chocolate broken into small bits-I use the little bars from Aldi that come in a pack of 5

Preheat oven to 160(fan)
I line an 8inch square cake tin with grease proof

Combine flour, bicarb & cocoa powder.
In a separate bowl mash the
bananas whilst you melt the butter. Add milk, vanilla, beaten egg & melted butter to the mashed bananas & mix to combine. Add the dry ingredients & mix then stir in half of the chocolate chips/chunks. Pour into tin & sprinkle remaining chocolate on top & bake in centre of oven for 20 mins. Lift out of tin with the paper & cool on a rack. Enjoy!

It does my head in when people refer to what is essentially blended frozen fruit as ice cream its not the same at all its more of a sorbet if that

Shouldbedoing · 27/05/2022 21:17

Banana bread/cake. But keep the chocolate chips out of it!

MsChatterbox · 27/05/2022 21:18

Banana milkshake... Freeze some milk in an ice cube tray. Then just banana, milk ice cubes and extra milk from the fridge. So good. Also banana bread. 4 is enough for both of those 😋

This is amazing and I'm sure it'd work with normal flour (instead of gf). I put dried fruit in mine.

Damnloginpopup · 27/05/2022 21:48

Blend with milk, honey and ice. It's lush

easyday · 27/05/2022 21:53

Mary Berry's banana bread. Add a generous sprinkling of brown sugar to the top before putting it in the oven. Yum!

butimjayigetaway · 27/05/2022 22:12

1 3/4 cup flour
four mashed bananas
baking powder
1/4 cup of oil

mix

bake on gm4 for 1 hour

butimjayigetaway · 27/05/2022 22:13

Look up "nice cream"

Blend with milk and nesquick for a milkshake.

Banana choc chip bread or muffins.

You can freeze bananas too. No need to throw them out when they get overripe and you don't have time to bake with them.

Bung then straight into the freezer in their skins. They blacken when frozen, and when you thaw them out to bake with them they slide out of the skins after you snip one end and give them a little squeeze at the other. They're very gooey but perfectly good for baking with.

Cut into chunks and freeze then blend with yogurt and a bit of honey. For the purist on here I'll call it frozen banana yogurt.

Chop up, stick in the freezer. Blend into banana ice-cream

This.
It's surprisingly creamy textured and a scoop n a cone is a kids' treat with much less effort than baking.

The cookies above are my go to with mushy bananas it’s so simple

letsnotdothat · 28/05/2022 07:20

I usually make banana muffins with ours.

GrumpyPanda · 28/05/2022 07:29

Banana milkshake, but turns out much tastier if using buttermilk instead of milk.

confusedofengland · 28/05/2022 07:35

Banana flapjack. Usual flapjack recipe but less sugar & butter required due to banana.
