Banks that let you purchase cryptocurrency?

My DH tried to purchase cryptocurrency today (we've been using it for years, we know what the risks are) and it was blocked by Natwest. After two phone calls and 90 minutes on hold he was told they've blocked it because of fraud cases. He asked if they could release the block but they've said no, there's a blanket policy that blocks purchases over a certain amount. They wouldn't tell him what the amount was but we're not high rollers, he was only putting in £1,000. He previously had to change banks from Halifax because they blocked all purchases.

Has anyone here bought cryptocurrency recently without problems and if so, which bank are you with?

I have the same problem with NatWest on Binance! Its funny how they won’t allow you to put money in to crypto but would be happy to allow you to spend that money on a gambling site! I was able to deposit with Revolut (if you’ve heard of them?) it’s a free top up debit card. Free to sign up to also!

Some of the challenger banks have crypto built into their systems if you buy from them. Revolut and Etoro do, I believe.

Thanks both. I hadn't heard of Revolut but will try it today. Natwest were blocking Binance for him too. It was very strange that they wouldn't remove the block after DH confirmed it wasn't fraud and he was making the transaction. Felt even stranger when she wouldn't tell him what the limit was. He asked if he needed to just keep trying until he reached the golden amount and the response was "well you could, but then your account could be blocked for multiple failed transactions" Confused
