What are you using for soaking and cleaning these days? I’m not happy with what I have, and looking for new recommendations.

I use Meni Care for GP lenses and think it's great.

DatingIsDifficult · 27/05/2022 16:58

@HerBigChance do you mean this one? Do you use something separate as a weekly cleaner too or you just use this?

I use Delta - which is a 2 part - cleaner/wetting & soaking system. Used to use Boots but like Delta better as it doesn't leave a sticky residue round the case, I get my solution from my optician.

PAFMO · 27/05/2022 17:01

Cheapest I can find. Currently Boots own brand. Often pick up Boston when it's on offer.

HerBigChance · 27/05/2022 17:27

@DatingIsDifficult - I just use the one pictured, it cleans mine too.

Puppylucky · 27/05/2022 17:45

I use Boston for soaking but have switched to a little machine for cleaning that uses vibrations to get the gunk off. Game changer!

fitflopqueen · 27/05/2022 17:53

I use Boston, both the daily soak/wetting solution and the cleaning solution in evening. Also use weekly tabs for cleaning - Boots or similar although do this much less. Tend to get solutions from Amazon, have Prime though.

Beamur · 27/05/2022 17:54

Boston or Delta here too. Really dislike the Delta wetting solution though but the cleaner is fine.

AphraBehnsPencil · 27/05/2022 17:56

I find Boston works best for me. I only use the daily wetting/cleaning solutions, nothing extra on a weekly basis.

RainingYetAgain · 27/05/2022 18:05

I use Delta now, I used to use Boston before the recall last year, and the Optician recommended Delta. I much prefer the cleaner to Boston. Optician now can't get Delta but I bought some on Amazon.

FiveShelties · 27/05/2022 18:08

My husband uses Boston too, he loves his GP lenses.

RainingYetAgain · 27/05/2022 18:09

I also use Amiclair enzyme tablets every fortnight.
DH uses an Asda own brand wetting/soaking solution with whichever cleaner I buy. DH prefers a really thin wetting solution.

BatshitCrazyWoman · 27/05/2022 18:22

I use Menicare Pure, and Progeny every week. I really like it.

These are great recommendations thanks everyone!

However, @Puppylucky I’m intrigued. Can you tell me more please?

Am also intrigued!

Ooh sorry @BatshitCrazyWoman and @DatingIsDifficult I didn't see your messages. I bought the machine from Amazon - its called an Ultrasonic Contact lens cleaner. You just stick the lenses in the relevant little holes with some saline (I also add cleaning solution but you don't have to) and press go. It vibrates and that's what cleans the lenses. They certainly come out cleaner and much more comfortable.

BatshitCrazyWoman · 02/06/2022 16:55

Thanks @Puppylucky !
